[ # ] Mortgage with County Court Judgements
December 27th, 2006 under Bad credit mortgage

Mortgage with County Court JudgementsIf you have had a county court judgement or a number of judgements registered against you in the past you could find yourself rejected by many of the mortgage lenders on the high street because you present too much of a lending risk to them.

People end up with CCJs against them for all sorts of reasons. Often it is through no fault of their own. It might only take a month or so off work through redundancy or ill-health for someone to fall behind with payments on a loan or other debt, and end up being taken to court and having a County Court Judgement registered against them.

All CCJ’s are recorded and a note of the CCJ will be shown on your credit record. The only exception is if you pay off the debt in full within thirty days of receiving the CCJ judgement from the County Court. A CCJ is a judgement for debt, which remains on your credit file for six years regardless of whether it is cleared (paid the debt) or not.

If you paid the debt off (called satisfying the CCJ) at least a year ago, it should be marked satisfied on your credit record and this improves your credit rating meaning you should have a greater choice of mortgage options. If you paid it off more recently or if the CCJ is still unpaid, we can still help you secure a mortgage through a specialist sub prime lender.
