The Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) is published by the American Economic Association. The issues appear quarterly in March, June, September, and December. Also online version of the periodical is available. The journal began publication in 1969. JEL contains survey and review articles, book reviews, an annotated bibliography of newly published books, and a list of current dissertations in North American universities.
Responsibility for producing JEL is shared by two offices, one in Pittsburgh and one in Stanford. The Stanford office manages the Articles, Communications, and Book Review Departments of JEL, and the Pittsburgh office produces the Bibliographic Departments of the JEL print and electronic editions, indexing new books, current periodicals, and dissertations using the Journal of Economic Literature classification system.
e-JEL, the electronic web edition of the Journal of Economic Literature, provides the current quarterly issue of JEL with hypertext enhancements made possible by the World Wide Web publishing environment.
e-JEL includes the articles and book reviews from the current JEL issue in Adobe pdf format.
