Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), established by Ruler’s Decree in September 2004, is a statutory body with wide ranging responsibilities for building the emirate’s tourism industry. Its Chairman is HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan and Director General is HE Mubarak Al Muhairi.
Abu Dhabi tourism authority works in three main areas:
- Destination marketing
- Infrastructure and product development
- Regulation, licensing and classification
The ADTA fully intends to improve, expand and enhance Abu Dhabi’s tourism assets over time.
First, its natural assets, such as sunshine during all the year in a complex with wonderful sandy beaches. Then man-made assets, which are on a very high level in the Emirates: 7 stars hotels, sport and entertainment facilities. And finally cultural and intangible assets, which are traditional in this Arabian country: friendliness, safety and respect.
The ADTA participates in almost all well-known travel exhibitions with the promotion of this region.
The results are that by the Abu Dhabi tourism authority statistics Abu Dhabi Hotel establishments, including hotel apartments, achieved an average occupancy rate of 80.79 per cent during the second quarter of this year.
